jedi party

the invite

instruction from yoda

testing the boys' jedi knowledge

grady had his first "big" party. six boys besides him.
i planned lots of activities to keep them busy.
and we lucked out with gorgeous weather so we were able to be outside for it all. a good thing with 7 boys.

stuff they did:
jedi obstacle course (put together by his sisters)
light saber training
battled the vader pinata
rob and yoda tested their jedi knowledge
"pin the badge on vader"
jedi vs. sith freeze tag game
so much fun!

(thanks torrie & john for lending your starwars treasures, especially yoda!)

The invite is fantastic. I love that picture of him. He looks quite natural as a jedi. What a fun theme, and what a lucky boy to have cool parents to throw him such a cool party. We love you Grady! and Kelly too of course. ;)

Does Yoda talk?!? You really do come up with the most amazing parties. Grady looks so grown up on that invite.
Happy Birthday, Grady - we miss you!

I think Grady looks older than 6. And he is quite handsome! Any kind of Star Wars theme would have gone over quite well in the Stringham Family. Sounded like a great party!

The boys had a great time. Super cool adventures at the Lees as usual. Such a perfect boy party. Maybe you should go into the party planning business, you know, with all that spare time you have driving around in the car? (love the new blog picture.)

That is awesome! wow, you are the coolest and hippest mom ever! What a fun birthday party idea! I totally was obsessed with Return to the Jedi as when I was Grady's age. I had a cool Jedi lunchbox and matching t-shirt.

p.s. glad you are a germ freak too. Im already dreading church tomorrow and all of the hand shaking. I usually try to keep both hands occupied. :)

I'm just glad Yoda can get off of Dagobah (out of the shed) once in a while (just once so far), but we felt it was a good time for a day trip as he's been on his best behavior (muffled screams from shed). Glad he could bring joy to the young Padawans. John & Torrie

torrie here-
that was john up there.
just wanted to say that i'll be renting yoda out for future party's for a mere $50 a day, with a $1,000 damage deposit and custody of your first born...
just trying to make a little dough off this house full of starwars collections:) and remember that it was i who filled out 500 entries to win him!
j.k- yodas not going any where! you have to be pretty special to have yoda at your birthday party! lucky boy grady is!
p.s- that's the first time MY kids have ever seen yoda out of hiding!
so thanks grady for giving us reason to enjoy him again, we sure hope you did!
love ya-
