tagged x3

(1989)
How long have you been together? 19 years. married for 15.

How long did you date? 4. high school sweethearts.

How old is he? 34

Who eats more? He does, but not my much.

Who said "I love you" first? hmmm... can't remember. i'm pretty sure whoever didn't say it first said it right away in response. i think we had been saying "love ya" for years in the way of teenagers.

Who is taller? he is by 5 inches

Who is smarter? he is definitely.

Who does the laundry? me 80%. him 20%.
i can't stand for him to wash my clothes. something always shrinks!

Who does the dishes? me 75%. him 25%.
right now we don't have a dishwasher, so there's lots of bribery going on.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? looking at the bed, I do.
it's closest to the toilet!

Who pays the bills? rob

Who mows the lawn? neither of us. the mower guys do. i've never mowed ever!

Who cooks dinner? I do, and I hate it.

Who is more stubborn? we're both kind-of stubborn when it's something we're passionate about. and we're also both laid back.

Who kissed who first? he kissed me first.

Who asked who out? we met in 8th grade spanish class and were buddies until 10th grade. after lots of flirting he sent me a note to ask if i wanted to "go out". our first unofficial date (parents did not know) was with our friends at the aurora village movie theatre where we saw Lucky Stiff (stupid), and our first official date was at the same place with andrew as our chaperone (poor kid) where we saw Oliver & Company (cute).

Who proposed? he did. i knew it was coming and the day. december 12. the anniversary of the day he "asked me out" and then one year later we were married on that date.he put his proposal in the seattle times and came to my house where he woke me up and had the ring in a teddy bear. (it was 1991!) he sent me roses later and took me out to our favorite restaurant that night. he's always been romantic.

Who is more sensitive? hmmm... i've been called an ice princess. i'm not prone to being emotional (except recently) but i have my moments. i think rob is more sensitive to the spirit, therefore most of his sensitivity is presented on sundays.

Who has more friends? me. its a girl thing.

Who has more siblings? me, by one.

Who wears the pants in the relationship? both. depends on the issue.

Who are you tagging? paige, gina, torrie, shannon t. & m.
and claudia... where are you?

love you rob!

you are evil for tagging me...but dang you guys are the best looking couple. were then and still are now.

i totally remember when rob asked you out...he was so excited!

and i would NEVER think you are an ice princess. i think you feel things more deeply than most people and just hold it inside.
love you guys!

that picture at the dance had {has} us cracking up out loud!!!!!!!!i know it was 1989, but i was 9 yrs. old and john graduated that year, so it all looks so funny to me!
why do men get better looking as they get older? it's just not fair.
i love the italy picture!- by the way thanks for opening up to us.

LOVE it, Kelly! I would have recognized that pic of you anywhere, (prob b/c I think it looks like McKenzie) but I wouldn't have picked out Rob. Ah, 1989. What a year. I think my brother had those same glasses.

So, you two were engaged for a year?! Did I read that right? What did it say in the Sea Times? I assume you have it in a place of honor, somewhere? And I think my mother finally got rid of all my boyfriend-teddy bears, all named after the boys who gave them to me. So, Torrie, don't mock us old ladies!

Which reminds me, have you seen Music and Lyrics? I know it's not the newest release, but we just saw it and OH MY, it made us LAUGH. Unless you remember renting a VCR player to watch a movie on, I think it wouldn't be as funny. Please tell me you remember that?!

yes K, we got engaged right after i was babtized, and then married in the temple a year later. way too long of an engagement!

not sure where the newspaper or the teddy bear is...
did i mention i'm not that sentimental?
i don't wear my wedding ring.
we got matching silver bands on the streets of new york a couple years ago for $20. i was tired of the gold.

that is a cute movie. of course i remember renting a beta and then vhs machine!
our kids are so spoiled.

Okay, I need to clear up a couple things before the comments start piling up.

I can bang out all the laundry in a day, so what if there are a couple casualties.

Right now I'm responsible for all the paper dishes that go in the compost. Easiest way to do dishes, ever. This is the whole diaper changing argument all over again.

Sensitive on Sundays? Okay, so i get that from my mom, but you don't have to go telling everyone. You're making me cry again.

All of Kelly's friends are my friends, too, so I actually have more (by one). :-)

I wear the jeans, she wears the pants.

As to Torrie's comment, i just look different (less hair, more weight) but i still feel like that goofy kid inside.

I don't know who's comments Im laughing more over...this whole thing is so funny! Rob- your comments rock.
I still haven't seen Oliver and Co. and I wanted to see it SO BAD. I absolutely LOVE to mow the lawn and I get incredibly angry if I hear the mower start, look out and see Ryan starting to mow the lawn. I'll drop whatever Im doing, yank on some ugly pants, slap on some ugly shoes and run out there at top speed to yell at him and make him give me the mower!! what a nerd.
I loved your survey and the picture ...I cannot wait to show Ryan!

You are only an ice princess to garage sale competition :) otherwise, you are the kindest, sweetest person I know.
You will have to be patient with me...I must wait for Kurt to come tomorrow with an old photo of us before I can respond to your tag!

i wasn't trying to be rude, i just like to rub it in that i'm younger than all my frinds-and all my dance pictures still look in style! hehe!
and as for the 'men get better looking' thing- john, jordan and i all agree- you are just as beautiful now as then.
jordan said when i showed her the blog- she say"i can tell who she is, she looks just the same but prettier now- but WHO is that standing next to her? is rob gonna get mad she put a picture of her and another dude on there?" end quote!
so there!
love ya!

That was fun to read and great to see. So was Rob as super-cool then as he is now? Must have been or you wouldn't be together.

You look darling now and then. Thanks for sharing but not for tagging. If you want to see my dance pictures you'll have to come over and look, Eric isn't in them.

What a great picture! You two are such a great looking couple.

And I love that Rob is sensitive, but you...the "ice princess"...never.

Maybe if you are nice I'll show you my Vegas wedding pictures someday! hee hee

p.s. that "m." tag doesn't mean me, does it?

I do read your blogs! Don't know why my print is so big! I got a little tear in my eye, I miss my years raising you girls, little bit of drama with 3 teenage girls!Rob, I think you should grow your hair long again (or doesn't your hair "grow" anymore?? hehe..and why didn't I know that Rob had placed a proposal in the Sea Times? I want to see it.
